  • Soft edematous more reddish in appearance.
  • Comparatively firm with colour looks similar to adjacent gingiva
  • Friable
  • Non friable
  • *GINGIVAl POLYP*
  • On passing the probe we can trace its origin with the tooth
  • On passing the probe we can trace its origin around the tooth (presence of stalk)
  • EndodonticTherapy or Extraction in severe case.
  • Removal of cause such as calculus

Note:

Radiolucent area around the tip of the roots indicate periradicular inflammation.

Radiographically,
1. Granulomas form small welldefined radiolucencies.
2. A radicular cyst forms a large well-defined radiolucency with or without a radiopaque (hyperostotic) border.
3. Apical abscess form large radiolucencies with diffuse irregular borders.
